STYLE GURU BIO: Allison Coppedge

Hey there Fashionistas! I’m Allison (or Allie for short) and I am currently a freshman at Columbia College Chicago studying fashion business and marketing. I like writing about affordable and accessible clothing that you don’t have to sacrifice your style for. I am so excited for my first semester ever with CollegeFashionista and can’t wait to share this journey with you all.

I have been passionate about fashion since I was a child and no matter how many questionable pairs of gauchos I wore or haircuts I got, I never let anyone get in the way of what I wanted to do. I have always had a strong sense of self in that way and if someone did not like what I was wearing, their opinion didn’t matter much to me because I was going to wear it anyway.

Since I am a student, it is important for me to not only always find the best deals but also know when to occasionally splurge. One thing that is important to find for any closet, but especially a closet with a small budget, is pieces that can easily be worn time and time again without people noticing that it is even the same article of clothing. Young people in general like to change up their style every now and again when they get bored, so shopping smart is very important and you want to have these basics available to carry with you through any makeover or revamp.

I do not have one specific style I stick to, rather I wear whatever I find pleasing to the eye and looks good on me. However, you can never go wrong with a statement necklacea good pair of jeans, or some nice booties. The key to dressing well is always your confidence. My fashion influencers include the talented Lorde, the ever cool and confident Leandra Medine and blogger Yanin Namasonthi. I love all three of these awesome women for having such different and unique senses of style and only hope that I can mimic this in my own wardrobe.

So stay tuned for my next post and I can’t wait to share the styles and trends I find around my campus!
