WHAT TO WEAR: Tailgate Trends

Welcome to the University of North Florida, where we relax in the fall and tailgate in the spring. Because my school doesn’t have a football team, we tailgate for basketball games, which is totally awesome. For girls, this is our time to showcase our most rad blue and gray looks!

Sometimes, I browse my favorite celebrities like Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner to get style inspiration, which was also the case for this week’s Fashionista. I’ve spotted this trendsetter time and time again and admired how she rocks every tailgate with her outfit choices. This week, I chatted with her to get the scoop.

This style-stalker looks to Selena Gomez for style motivation on the daily. To achieve this she uses Pinterest to create her own Selenator (Selena Gomez, that is) ensemble. I have also used Selena Gomez for inspiration, as her style can vary from simple to bohemian goddess. As a role model in this society, Selena Gomez has also become a fashion icon to many.

Fashion has forever been a part of my identity. Since starting college, I have grown an even more vigorous love for it. Being able to express myself through clothes is what I adore most about it. In high school, my outfit choices were limited due to a strict dress code. College is completely different in that case. I could pretty much pull anything together and model it to class. When I had a conversation with this week’s Fashionista, she told me that she had just recently started keeping up with the freshest looks.

Tailgates are a favored event at the University of North Florida, just like they are at most other colleges. Trying to be comfortable while looking cute can be difficult, but it is an important task when you know you’ll be on your feet for quite a few hours. Since Converse are a trendy and comfortable shoe, this Fashionista states that they are perfect for tailgates. She sports her favorite blue tank top with a classic denim skirt to complete her outfit.
