STYLE GURU STYLE: Kinky Boots

With New York Fashion Week coming to an end, hopefully, most of us were fortunate enough to catch a glimpse into what styles lay ahead of us for the spring/summer season of 2017.  Aligning the style tips of the spring/summer 2016 according to the New York fashion and incorporating that into fall fashion is a fun and inventive way to stay ahead of the game and lead the way like most Fashionistas/os aim to do for our day to day style.

With the fashion seasons being established, the weather couldn’t be more opposite. It’s not quite fall/autumn with the change of the color on the trees and early sunsets, but not quite summer with late hot nights and that occasional summer breeze. Layering your outfit is always fashionably acceptable and actually encouraged, unlike white after Labor Day–even though in New York City a lot of things are more common and socially acceptable! I don’t think the fashion police could bypass such an offense though.

I owe my outfit inspiration to ’70s U.K. Vogue as well as celebrities like Claudia Cardinale and Sophia Lauren, who make effortless sexy a detrimental vibe of its own. Of course, I can’t break away from a neutral color scheme, my outfit consists of all black and the camel bomber jacket is a pop or splash of color. My lace body suit has a key hole back and  is paired with basic shorts, with thigh-high caged high heels. Many celebrities like Kendall Jenner, La La Anthony and Gigi Hadid have been spotted wearing caged thigh-highs. These shoes have a range of casual sexy to kinky formal. These shoes are an excellent accent and definitely a great way to stop traffic. My outfit had too much flair for accessories so I went very minimalist with no added accessories or jewelry. In the beauty department, I accented my look with a mauve/tinted brown lip that also accents the camel and brown.

So Fashionistas/os, seize the fashion future by adding feature from next season to your everyday ensembles. Lead the way with your own twist of what’s next to come in fashion, we all know the saying: “if you can’t beat em’ join em.”
