Let’s get one thing straight, how RAD is it that wearing both oversized and comfortable clothing is totally on-trend right now? To think of a time where looking good wasn’t associated with slouchy, oversized or distressed clothing is absolutely insane (if I do say so myself). For all of us college students who are trying to get through the rest of the semester, looking flawless yet comfortable is basically one of our daily goals.
So what better way to find an oversized yet comfy look this season then to find some runway inspiration by the one-and-only Kanye West. We all know that Kanye loves himself entirely too much, but he also has a major love for fashion (we now all share something in common). The surprise Kanye West x adidas Original collection for fall 2015 took the runway by storm and gave everyone a little something to talk about. With a natural and subdued color palette and the mix of tight and loose clothing, you can see that the word comfortable was written all over his collection. My eyes favored his oversized distressed sweaters, and his Yeezy Boost 350 sneakers, both of which were extremely popular in his recent collection release to the public. I took Kanye’s runway style and interpreted it into my own look.
First, I started off with a pair of classic black Levi Brand Jeans, because we all know that black goes with everything. I then searched for the most perfect Yeezy inspired sweatshirt, that was both comfortable and within his color palette. I came across this dark military green oversized sweatshirt from Forever 21. Finding this piece was amazing, considering I don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend on the real deal. With the long length, slightly distressed edges and side zippers, it was the perfect look for me without stepping outside my personal style. Did I mention how comfortable it is? Lastly, I chose to wear a monochromatic pair of Nike sneakers to pretend that I was actually prancing around in a pair of Yeezy Boost 350s (wishful thinking). Keeping my accessories simple, I carried a black over-the-shoulder bag with a few simply layered Alex and Ani bracelets to accentuate the silver zippers in the sweatshirt.
