STYLE GURU STYLE: Bleached

As much as I love the summer months, I’m completely ready for fall (and, it’s not just because I can start ordering hot coffee again). As all fashion lovers know, September is the month for fashion. It is where fashion Bible, Vogue, blesses us with the September issue and street style denominates New York Fashion Week.

This year’s trend lineup is unique and long-awaited. Seventies-chic has been prevalent all summer and will continue throughout fall, while Victorian-romantic just graced the cover of Vogue. There are so many amazing trends awaiting us this fall season, but today I’ll be talking about all white outfits. That’s right ladies and gents, we’re going monochromatic. I can really appreciate a nice monochromatic look and Prabal Gurung pulled it off oh so well. In Gurung’s pre-fall 2015 line, you can see pops of bold colors and a lot of pattern mixing, but the sleek, minimal looks are what caught my eye.

All-white is a great option because it’s like a blank canvas. Sorry, that was so cliché, but it’s true. It’s simple and a great starting point for layering and accessorizing. Although I’m talking about a complete bleached-out look, black pieces were prominent throughout his line, so I incorporated some into my look.

I completely adore these mules because they have a big, silver buckle that creates just enough attention. Mules definitely had a moment this summer and I think they’re a great transitional piece for fall. On top is my favorite leather jacket, which is one of my wardrobe staples. Some things must be in your closet at all times! Also, I’ve been really into this form of layering; it has that sense of sophistication. Finishing off this look, I layered some necklaces that added that pop of edge I wanted. Overall, I love how comfortable and fresh the look is, while the black and silver accents create unity.

Remember: you can be bold in the most subtle way.

Get My Look: 1. A plain white T-shirt. 2. The perfect boyfriend jeans. 3. Black mules. 4. A staple leather jacket. 4. Edgy jewelry.
