STYLE GURU BIO: Lizzie Bross

Hey sweet Style Gurus and curious cats! My name is Lizzie Bross. I was born in Soc Trang, Vietnam, but I was adopted by my wonderful parents and have lived in Dallas, Texas ever since. I am now a junior in college, attending the Art Institute of Dallas as a fashion merchandising major.

Ever since I was young I embraced my individuality. Sometimes I felt like I didn’t quite fit in, but eventually I found a way to celebrate my difference through fashion. I was the kind of little girl who cut her own hair and wore sweaters in summer, just because it made the outfit look cute. Today, I am the kind of young woman who mixes prints, braids my hair in 20 different ways and isn’t afraid to wear rain boots with dresses. I believe that the most beautiful thing about fashion isn’t the designer or price tag, but how the wearer makes each outfit his or her own. Seeing someone who is confident in their style and themselves is truly priceless and inspiring! I hope that by sharing my love of fashion, I can inspire others to embrace their individuality and even branch out into styles they weren’t comfortable with before. I think that fashion can make people feel so incredibly special and give them a pep to their step.

To all my readers, I hope you go out and get excited about your style, or discover something new! As Lilly Pulitzer once said, “Being happy never goes out of style.” I can’t wait for you to come with me on my journey with CollegeFashionista. You can connect with me on other social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. I’m one step closer to living my dream and I hope you are too!

Now… I know you all are wondering what I’m wearing. On early school days, when I feel like achieving a cute look easily, I like to throw on a graphic tee. Graphic tees are perfect for expressing who you are or what you like, without you having to explain. I sometimes like to say, “Talk to the tee” instead of talk to the hand. You can find my fun “caffeine queen” graphic tee here. I’m also wearing some of my favorite high-waisted shorts from American Apparel, and my go-to Superstar sneakers from adidas.
