STYLE GURU BIO: Kerry Reagan

Hi everyone! My name is Kerry Reagan and I am studying Apparel Merchandising and Business at the University of Missouri. I can’t believe how fast time passes, but I am very excited to be starting my sophomore year and even more excited to see what the fashion world has in store for me.

Fashion and sewing became a big part of my life at an early age. A few days a week after elementary school my mom (the wonderful woman who brought sewing into my life) would pick me up and take me to my sewing class across town. Although I was young and only working on projects like small blankets and pillow cases, sewing became a huge passion of mine. Many nights you could find me cross legged in front of the television watching Project Runway in awe of the garments that were made. So inspired, I even attempted to make a mannequin out of paper towel roles, fabric and pillow stuffing. Needless to say that didn’t work out well, but I am so glad that my passion for fashion has stuck with me all these years and now I get to pursue it as a career!

Along with sewing class, I grew up involved in different sports and activities that gave me ideas of what I wanted to be when I was older. As I entered high school and began taking more sewing and fashion classes I became more intrigued with how the industry worked. How awesome would it be to work in an industry that required you to be unique, different and think outside the box 24/7? That’s one of the main reasons I love fashion. I love the confidence that clothing can bring to people. There’s no better way to express yourself than through what you’re putting on your body.

My style of fashion varies from day to day which I love. Some days I like to keep it simple with neutral colors but on other days, wearing something flashy and bright is the way to go! If there is one thing you would find me in most often it would be a dress. You don’t hear that very often but I love how versatile they can be. Whether you want to wear it out casually or spice it up with some jewelry it can be an easy cute outfit. Out of all the different aspects of fashion, accessorizing is one of my favorites! I believe that adding a few simple bracelets here and there can go a long way. A couple of things I never leave the house without are my favorite pair of sunglasses and my watch. It is often overlooked but a watch not only serve as a resource, but it can be a super cute piece of arm candy as well.

As I begin my sophomore year and my first semester as a Style Guru, I am super excited to share with you my fashion tips and cute finds! Always remember, there’s no right or wrong in fashion, so have fun with it!
