STYLE GURU BIO: Illyssa Le

September 2nd, 2015 at 2:00am

Hello, hi, hey, Fashionistas! My name is Illyssa Le and I am from the Golden State, California. I am a sophomore at Chapman University as a business and sociology major. Many kids leave their hometown or home state to explore a new environment. Despite living in California my entire life, I’ve yet to experience California to it’s fullest. I chose to stay because of the various cultures within this state and the opportunities it brings. With business and sociology, I hope to some day become a business lawyer, have my own business (like my parents) or become a manager of a large company or corporation.

When I was in high school I discovered my love for fashion which has blossomed and grown to an appreciation for all art forms. Some days I will dress like a female version of Jimi Hendrix or another day I’ll be Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl; sometimes I am something in between. My inspiration for outfits comes from everywhere. It can come from celebrities, magazines, a stranger, maybe even the shower. I think inspiration can be found anywhere, in anything or anyone. Like my source of inspiration, I am constantly changing; physically, emotionally and mentally. I like to think that I am growing and evolving which can (hopefully) be reflected in my style. I have yet to find my personal style, but I think finding your style is like finding yourself. You need to go out of your comfort zone, and get lost in all that life (and fashion) has to offer. Sometimes you need to get lost before you get found.

In this outfit I am wearing a floral white Free People romper, a green army jacket from Anthropologie, a pair of burnt maroon Kork-Ease booties, a leather body harness from Free People, a pair of Quay cat eye sunglasses, a brown leather tote bag from Free People and various rings and bracelets from Topshop, Forever 21, Brandy Melville, Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom and Free People.

I am so excited to be a part of CollegeFashionista and I can’t wait for what is in store!
