STYLE GURU BIO: Ellen Kerschke

Salutations! My name is Ellen Louise Kerschke, as you’ve probably gathered. What you might not know is my designer brand name: Noelle Louise (trademark pending). As a fashion design major at Kent State University. I am pursuing a career in the fashion industry. I am looking forward to creating my first ever line under the Noelle Louise brand. I am originally from Chicago, but have lived in Brooklyn, Florence and Kent, Ohio. Though I have lived in many other places, I am drawn to the west coast aesthetic. I am eager to develop a line throughout the course of my senior year that reflects “California Dreaming.” Other inspiration for my first collection include music icons and green living.

In the summer of 2016 I worked on the contemporary womenswear brand VARYFORM in Chicago, alongside the head designer and professional pattern maker to develop 12 styles for the spring/summer 2017 collection. I also worked as the Head Merchandiser at “the sesh,” a podcast for musicians to share their stories and music. My experience in photography includes high school and college level courses, and training under the professionals at Coleigh Photography. My photographs have been featured on “the sesh,” Deerprints and The Lisa Show. At Kent State I studied abroad in Florence, Italy with a focus on fashion design. I am an active member of Tau Sigma Honor Society, which focuses on facilitating the arrival of transfer students by providing academic resources, and participating in service work. After school I hope to utilize my design skills to implement more environmentally friendly practices in the fashion industry. I am ecstatic to be apart of the CollegeFashionista team, and look forward to meeting fellow Fashionistas on campus and sharing their looks.
