STYLE GURU BIO: Abby Cummings

I’m Abby, a senior at NC State University studying communication media. I recently became a lifestyle and fashion blogger and launched Wholehearted Blog last winter. I discovered and fell in love with the world of blogging and came across the CollegeFashionista account one day while scrolling through Instagram. I loved the idea of a resource for college kids to share their style, since our budgets and lifestyles are unique at this point in our lives.

As a college student, I’m one of the few people walking around campus in actual outfits (rather than workout clothes), but for me it’s not to be an overachiever or sacrifice comfort for style. I love picking out my clothes for the day and feeling like I’m putting my best foot forward. I’m a believer in the philosophy that if you look good, you feel good.

I would consider my style to be boho-glam. I love any embroidery, floral, tribal print and fringe. I own more patterns than solids and accessorize with stacks of bracelets and statement necklaces. If I’m dressing up, I love any chance to wear an eye-catching lipstick and smokey eyes.

I also love to be crafty and do DIY projects. It’s not uncommon for me to wear jewelry that I’ve made or a scarf that I’ve knitted. If you can’t find the perfect accessory for an outfit, create it! It adds a whole new dimension to your outfit too. Travel is my inspiration, and I love to collect clothes and accessories as souvenirs and gain style inspiration from places I’ve been.

I’m looking forward to this journey and am happy to have joined a group of fellow Fashionistas!
