STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Mixology

We’re in the homestretch of finishing up the semester, which should mean that spring is here and summer is in the distance. Unfortunately for me, I live in Maryland where it can be 80 degrees and beautiful one day and 30 degrees and rainy the next. My wardrobe is constantly switching seasons and I can’t wait to be able to put away my winter sweaters for good. While I may still be struggling to find a seasonal balance in my looks, this Fashionista looks like a seasoned pro.

This Fashionista was prepared for anything the Maryland weather may throw at her by completing her look with a slouchy white sweater that is a definite upgrade from the ones worn all winter long. As a whole, this Fashionista’s look is polished and put together, but it’s not until you take a closer look that you see how deconstructed and mix matched it truly is! Her ripped jeans that are cuffed and paired with gladiator heels are a match made in fashion heaven. I love how she paired various textures from her silky blue tank, a woven sweater and jeans. I think of three distinct different seasons for each of these to be worn, but this Fashionista aced this mixology.

Not only did she show off her textured skills, but this Fashionista said bye-bye to old-school conforming to fashion rules that force for a matching shoe and purse and jewelry from the same set. Her beige leather purse complements her shoes without being an exact match and the jewelry is a great reflection of the Fashionista’s personality. My personal favorite is the gold feather ring that is giving me major spring vibes.

Just because the weather is constantly changing doesn’t mean you have to stay stuck in a rut of leggings and sneakers. Have fun with your style and don’t be afraid to mix it up!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I love to try out new looks and I don’t think class is an excuse to not do that! The weather always has me second-guessing so I try to have everything I may need depending on what Maryland throws at us. Always wear something you love the way you look and feel; it’s an instant confidence boost!”
