Hello Fashionistas/os! I hope you are all keeping warm and cozy as December approaches. As I have been walking around campus the past few weeks, I have been truly inspired by all of the Fashionistas/os who embrace the cold with thick knits and layering. This Fashionista hits all of the classic winter fashion trends while remaining the queen of denim, knits, and cuteness!
Her outfit is not only adorable and warm for the weather, but is super easy to pull off in a rush. She is rocking a thick knit turtleneck sweater, an oversized denim jacket, white jeans and my favorite knee high lace-up boots from Free People. She accessorized this look with some oversized hoops and her classic french braids to add an element of glam. Overall, this Fashionista’s denim on denim look is not only super trendy, but also appropriate for the chilly weather in New York.
The key to denim on denim, in my opinion, is confidence. An oversized denim jacket pairs well with basic and patterned tops, while also giving your look a thrifty uniqueness. This Fashionista’s choice to pair her denim jacket with white jeans gives this look a more glamorous feel, but don’t shy away from rocking a jacket like this with a denim skirt, distressed jeans, etc. As you can probably tell, I am all about layering denim over sweaters in the cold. All of these knits and chunky jackets around campus have me super inspired to embrace the winter, guys. Stay warm!
