STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Fluffy Is The New Fab

February 8th, 2016 at 2:00am

Getting back to school after over a month of winter break and suddenly being forced to dress like a real human again is a struggle that we all face. If you’re anything like me, you’ve worn nothing but pajamas for the last three weeks. So, what’s a girl to do when suddenly it’s eight in the morning and you’re trying to figure out how to look presentable while also needing to stay warm in the brutal New England winter?

The solution? Find the clothes that most closely resemble your pajamas, without actually being them. A recent trend that I’ve been completely obsessed with is the faux shearling fuzzy jackets that I’ve been seeing all over the place. It’s pretty much equivalent to wearing a fluffy bathrobe, but you look put together (and don’t get any weird looks like you would if you actually did sport your robe to early-morning classes). The key is to pair it with a simple outfit to let the jacket do all the talking, which is exactly what this Fashionista accomplished.

Sticking to earth tones, like a basic dark green top, allows the jacket to be the centerpiece of the outfit. However, she added some great touches with some boho jewelry and a pop of color from this awesome necklace. A pair of classic dark jeans and black boots ties together an outfit that is perfect for class, running errands or lunch with friends.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I literally wear this jacket every day. It’s the comfiest and softest thing ever. I change it up by either pairing it with simple things, like I did with this outfit, or sometimes I’ll even get crazy and wear it with a patterned dress or something. Either way, you can never go wrong. “
