STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Fashionable Fringe

As summer is coming to a close, we must tuck away our favorite summer dresses and slide into fall. It is a bittersweet transition, but hello people it’s boot season! This season’s must have trend is ’70s-inspired so think lots of suede, fringe, and menswear. I’m going to give you a few tips about how you can incorporate this trend in your wardrobe, even if you only have one piece in the whole outfit that is inspired by the ’70s. Fall is such an exciting time to play with layers and prints. We welcome the cold weather with open arms and belly’s full of pumpkin spice lattes.

This Fashionista has clearly already taken notes on the trend, and is showing us how it’s done! She made her look modern by paring a faux Blank NYC leather jacket, with her ’70s fringe tank. The tank has a peek-a-boo cutout at the top and hits right at the waistline, so it has more of a tailored feel. The jacket is cropped which showcases the fringe and also AG high waisted jeans. To bring in some sex appeal she added jet blue Sam Edelman pumps and a Cartier ring. Lastly she topped off the outfit with a dainty gold necklace and some reflective glasses.

Everyone take a minute and obsess over this girls hair. Waves are a perfect way to keep the look polished without going over the top. For the perfect wave, take one inch pieces that are halfway down your head and curl away from your face. Hold for ten seconds (depending on thickness) and then scrunch. Spray with hairspray or make it a little wilder with spray wax. To complete the look flat iron the ends on low heat in order to prevent breakage.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Keep your fringe the focal point. The rest of the outfit should not be over the top, add simple jewelry for glam.”
