ALL IN THE DETAILS: Dudes Dressed in Denim

Make way, summer weather! Breaking out your favorite pair of shorts when it is finally warm out is almost as satisfying as a cool glass of lemonade on a sunny day. This Fashionisto loves his khaki mid-length jean shorts with frayed cuff cuts. Mixing a jean button-up with non-denim bottoms can be just as cool as a denim-on-denim look. Both gentlemen and gals can jazz up denim outerwear with lapel pins, buttons, patchwork, or DIY embroidery. The possibilities are endless. Sulphur washes and overdye treatments provide an authentic, lived-in look. Investing in high-quality pieces will ensure versatility and longevity.

This spring/summer look was inspired by the 2013 Calvin Klein Jacket shoot. This is a timeless ensemble that will always remain on trend. This outfit can be achieved with a denim top, khaki bottoms, and a neutral shirt.

This dapper Fashionisto accessorizes with a very cool belt from F.H. Wadsworth, which is perfect for this time of year. The grosgrain ribbon fabric is breathtaking in this shade of red-orange. The silver tone D rings really sparkle in the sunlight (in the most manliest way possible, of course). My favorite pop of color is this belt, along side what I like to call the “John Lennon sunglasses.” These teashade-shaped sunglasses really pop with this neutral outfit in its yellow-orange tint. While wearing an outfit only colored in neutrals, it is really important that you accessorize to your full potential in vivid color. The embroidered blue jean hat was found at a local thrift shop. Unique items like this are perfect finds and make the individual’s style unique to them.
