With Halloween passing and the holidays on the horizon, it’s the time where us girls start looking for new festive makeup looks to try out. Thanks to the cool weather, we don’t have to worry as much about sweating our makeup off, so we have more freedom to experiment. To me, nothing defines a festive makeup look more than a classic winged eyeliner and a bold red lip. Along with this classic combination, this Fashionista took it a step further and did a neutral toned smokey eye to give her look even more definition.
This Fashionista is rocking a slight smokey eye mixed with golds and browns and winged eyeliner. This is nothing short of classic. She used neutral toned colors so the look isn’t too overdone, but it’s just enough to add the extra touch of glam.
Now, let’s talk about the most important part of the face- the eyebrows! Ladies, I cannot say this enough, filling in your brows is the key to transforming your look. Here, our Fashionista used a medium/dark toned eyebrow pencil to perfectly sculpt and shape her brows! It’s always important to define the natural shape of your brow.
Next, we have the highlighter and blush. If you would like to skip this step that’s fine, but I think it’s really important. In this look, a basic highlighter was used underneath the eyes, and to keep the look neutral, she added a brown toned blush.
Last, but not least, we have the bold red lip! Though red is my go to shade all year round, nothing beats rocking a red lip during the holiday season! A lot of girls struggle finding their shade or even fear that they cannot pull a red lip off. The way I found my correct shade was by going to the MAC makeup store and having a professional tell me what shade looked best with my skin tone. From there, I’ve had a very specific color pallet for red lipsticks and I do not stray away from those colors. This Fashionista finished off this look by wearing a bold ruby red lip, and you can see how much the lip color brightened up her face.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To recreate this look is very simple. All you need is a neutral toned makeup palette, a brow pencil, a liquid eyeliner pen, mascara, some highlighter, a little blush and, of course, a bold red lip!
