BEAUTY BAR: Smokey Transformation

January 1st, 2016 at 2:00am

This Fashionista fills me in on the ins and outs of how to create a seamless smokey eye. This look serves two distinct purposes—day or night. For the daytime, she recommends using light, neutral colors that subtly add a pop to your everyday look. As for transforming this look for a night out in the city, using harsh black and silver eye shadow would probably be most beneficial.

This Fashionista blends a mix of browns and creams to bring out her green eyes. She doesn’t do that normal mix of colors relating to the classic smokey eye that you see all over social media. She mentioned that she exclusively uses the Naked Smokey palette. Even though this palette is a bit pricier than the drug store shadows, it’s definitely worth it! It’s okay to splurge a little, especially if it’s for eye shadow purposes.

As for this Fashionista’s outfit, she is rocking the edgy look—black leggings with zippers, a marble T-shirt, a jean jacket with the sweatshirt sleeves and her buckle boots. What more could you need to make this outfit any more amazing? Smokey eyes. Simply add the smokey eye to any look, and you are automatically ready for anything that is thrown your way.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To complete this smokey eye look, you will need a couple simple tools. First, you will definitely need a Naked Smokey Palette by Urban Decay for the perfect smoky gradient and Maybelline Colossal mascara for long lashes. To get a flawless complexion, add Bobbie Brown bronzer and Trish Mcevoy concealer.
