BEAUTY BAR: B-lue-eautiful

Any Friends fans over here? Remember Joey’s debut as an international male model with the Japanese commercial for Ichiban, the blue lipstick for men? Despite his talent and will of turning the lipstick (and the man bag) into a trend, he failed. Yet years later, I found this Fashionista “killin’ it” while using blue lipstick the most stylish and RAD way possible out in the streets of Boston!

School is just starting again, and what better way to introduce a new semester than by trying different styles? Keep your look on the old school side, and let your makeup shine by turning it into your statement piece (or pieces in this case). Wear your favorite pair of distressed denim high waisted shorts. Make sure they aren’t too short though, class is not the place for short shorts! Stay fresh with a light, cotton graphic T-shirt and walk around campus in a pair of comfortable black slippers or the classic white Converse sneakers. Add the “cool” factor by wearing the Clubmaster shades, barely accessorize, and bring your favorite iced drink to keep hydrated.

Since weather is unpredictable (at least in Boston), I’ve learned that outfits must always have a “what if” taken into consideration. Such as: “what if the weather app lies again and It’s actually chilly outside?” Then, you can switch the shorts for boyfriend jeans, and add a cardigan to keep warm.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To complete your ensemble, bring in the blue lipstick and polish. Matching the color makes it look cohesive and well put together. Why it works you ask? Because you are leaving all the attention to the make up! The other elements of the outfit aren’t competing with the lips or the nails. Keep the rest of your makeup in the nudes, and you’re all set. You’ll be the cool kid of your class!
