When thinking of shopping, one may think of racks lined with new clothes that have never been worn. Shopping may have the stereotype of being a wealthy person’s hobby or that one must spend a ton of money to have fashionable looks. However, over the past few years, a new form of shopping has emerged. And I think this type of shopping would be better referred to as treasure hunting.

Nowadays, one does not what to spend a lot of money on just one trend. With the pace that fashion moves, it would be nearly impossible to keep up with the latest trends and styles if they were all hundreds of dollars. It is to the consumer’s advantage to find stylish looks at an affordable price, and this is exactly what this Fashionista has done!

This Fashionista has decided to take an old sweatshirt and turn it into something trendy! She found this sweatshirt in a lost and found bin on campus and decided to cut the bottom off to make it cropped. Paired with her leggings from Target and her combat boots, she has turned what was a forgotten sweatshirt into a stylish look. Her accessories also go perfectly with her look. Her Skagen watch and patterned backpack finish off her affordable look with a little extra flare!

So before deciding to pay too much for a look or thinking that you can’t afford the latest trends, try going on your own treasure hunt like this Fashionista; you never know what you’ll find!

How To: Love this cropped sweatshirt look? Find an old sweatshirt at home or one on sale and decide where you want the sweatshirt to hit on your body. Take a pen and mark that spot. Then simply take a pair of fabric scissors and cut! You’ll be rocking that cropped look in no time!
