ALL IN THE DETAILS: The Patterned Jegging

The first step towards a solution is admitting you have a problem, right? And so it is with that in mind that I confidently disclose to you: I’m leggings obsessed. Don’t be mistaken, this is unlike any sort of gym freak, workout clothes obsession. I can’t even tell you that I’m an avid gym attendee, but when describing to you my favorite wardrobe pieces, you may think so. As a “Fashionista,” the going gets tough when it’s time for those 9:00 a.m. classes and all I want to do is look cute but still feel as comfortable as I would be lying in bed.

And so behold, fellow fashion bums—nearly godsent, the jegging has become a staple in the fashion industry, providing all the comfort of leggings in one social acceptable, trendy pant.

This week’s Fashionista knows just how to work her comfy style with her intricately patterned, denim blue jeggings. She allows the pant to do all the trendy work and focuses on neutrals for the rest of her look. She pairs the bottoms with a simply sheer, white button-down and throws on a chic brown and burgundy motto jacket to keep things just edgy enough so as not to overwhelm the look. As far as shoes go, she’s wearing a fun pair of what looks like a hybrid of Sperry Top-Siders and oxford flats in a beautifully neutral, olive green hue. She also sports a Louis Vuitton-esque tote by Coach, complete with beige and red detailing that provides a pop of color that isn’t overpowering. For accessories, our Fashionista continues with the neutral theme by donning a delicate cross she picked up during a trip to Jerusalem.

How To: More often then not, I find that people are terrified to experiment with a fun pair of pants much like this Fashionista’s. But don’t fret—just let the trendy jeggings do all the talking and silence the rest of the look by keeping things neutral; you’ll feel comfy and chic all the same.
