ALL IN THE DETAILS: The Fad For Plaid

There comes a time in college where you become conflicted. Do you want to dress comfortably or dress nice? This problem usually arises during dreaded midterm week: a time where you barely get any sleep and barely eat anything, yet you’re still expected to do well on your exams that just so happen to all be in the same week. Have no fear, Fashionistas: I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to pick between style and comfort!

One easy way to help your outfit is a plaid button-up shirt. By tying a plaid shirt around your waist, people will think you are being stylish when in reality it is really just convenient. The weather starts getting a little chilly around midterm time, so if you get cold you can just put on the plaid button up.

The Fashionista featured paired a white T-shirt and a grey cardigan with a plaid shirt tied around her waist. Even though she has a cardigan on, the plaid shirt does not overpower the outfit but instead is a nice complement to it. To add on to the comfort of the outfit, she wore a pair of white Converse with knee-high socks. Running from midterm to midterm requires comfortable shoes. All of the elements in her outfit are simple. It is very easy to come up with this outfit with items that already in your closet. These pieces are classic and can be used towards many different outfits as well.

Plaid is a very classic piece that everyone, male or female, owns. There are many different ways to style it, making it essential in everyone’s wardrobe. While a plaid shirt is stylish, it also offers comfort. Pairing an outfit with a plaid button-up adds a stylish touch to any outfit. I don’t know how anyone survives midterm week but I am sure that plaid shirts make the week a little better.
