ALL IN THE DETAILS: Texture Later

It’s that time of year again! The nights are becoming cooler and cooler and the days are becoming shorter and shorter. The end of summer always leaves a lasting impression. Our days are filled with reliving memories of summer nights and with the start of the school year, any reminder is greatly appreciated.

Here in Ohio, the weather often teases us. I strongly believe that Mother Nature laughs at us. Some days are sunshine-filled and meant for rompers and sandals. Then the next day takes an unexpected turn and the skinny jeans must be brought out. September is a great transition season. The styles of both summer and fall can easily be merged together. It’s the best of both worlds. Those enthusiasts who are all for pumpkin spice lattes and those people who are all for showing off their summer glow find a happy median.

You can always spruce up looks and styles without purchasing new items. It only takes a little inspiration and creativity. Simplicity can be made chic. The little things can make a big impact on a look. Sometimes patterns and prints can be overwhelming and difficult to coordinate between seasons. A fun and easy method of adding some spunk is by mixing textures. Keeping the colors neutral will maintain the simplicity. It adds such a new depth to looks.

This Fashionista is layering on the textures. On the top she is wearing a black, three-quarter sleeve length bodysuit. The length is perfect for cooler days. The tiny, vertical ribbing on the bodysuit contrasts with the horizontal, off-the-shoulder neckline. Her slightly distressed skinny jeans are torn just enough as to not be too distracting. Her faux suede heels add a classy touch. She decided to accessorize with small touches. Her leather Tory Burch bag is an essential for easy convenience during classes. The lace choker draws the eyes to the face and she decided to add some classic aviator shades to polish off the look.

Her look is chic, yet casual. Pairing trendy pieces, like the off-the-shoulder bodysuit, with basic essentials keeps your wardrobe looking new!
