ALL IN THE DETAILS: Springy Skirts

Spring is finally here; bring out the hallelujah chorus! After all the spring shows unveiling new lines, something kept catching my eye—something that Erdem Moralioglu’s spring line was all about. In Erdem’s line, we see so much influence from the jungle and all things wild, which is something I think every Fashionista/o should embrace this spring (or really any season). The floral patterns and long, draping fabrics of the skirts in this line can be used in your own wardrobe quite easily.

Skirts are so flirty and fun but are often overlooked for the more casual look. The great thing about these springtime skirts are that they can be dolled up or dressed down. The perfect example is in this bright Fashionista who paired her floral skirt with a simple black crop top and sandals. This dresses down the super springy skirt making it perfect for the sunny walk around campus. Mixing tribal print sandals with a floral skirt in similar colors is a bold move that will cause some heads to turn.

Of course, not all spring skirts have to be floral, but the semi-maxi length of these skirts are what make them the newest trend. Different from the mini and the maxi, these skirts cinch at the waist to show some curves and stop above the ankle (to show off those sandals, of course!). Skirts like this one combine different patterns and lengths for a perfectly flowy feel. This skirt on the other hand brings a girly vibe to any outfit; pair it with wedges that pop and you have a new spring look.

How To: Have a day when you just want to wear sweats? Wear a flouncy spring skirt with a simple crop top. The skirt is just as comfortable as sweats and your messy bun will give a relaxed, beachy feel to the look.
