ALL IN THE DETAILS: Springing Into the Semester

The weather in Virginia has been so out of wack lately that it’s got all of us students prepared for summer. This past week there were barely any days that were under 55 degrees, which is just not normal for February. But through this odd heat wave, we’ve been able to take a break from the sweaters and boots that we’ve been wearing for the past three months and are showing some leg and adding a pop of color here and there.

This Fashionista decided to be bold in her outfit on this extra sunny day and I loved every part of it. From the denim jacket and striped button-down over her floral dress to her fedora and booties, this outfit just screams spring. It is no secret that often times the best outfits are the ones with the most simplistic little details here and there, using what you already have. As this Fashionista did not add a ton of accessories, she simply mixed prints together and used her shirt to tie a knot in the front. Sometimes mixing prints can be a little difficult, but this Fashionista hit the colors and prints right on the nail. By adding a denim jacket, she brought together all the colors in the prints to give her look a more of a cohesive and relaxed vibe. The rips on the jacket added a little bit of edginess as well as trendiness because we all know those denim jackets are all the craze right now. She kept her accessories simple by adding a black fedora and black booties, which I think also helps give the look a cohesive vibe from head to toe.

So this spring as the weather starts to get warmer, here is a challenge to start mixing and matching the pieces you have in your closet. You just might find your new go-to look for when you’re in a hurry on those snooze button mornings!
