ALL IN THE DETAILS: Pop Of Color

It’s raining; it’s pouring; the old man is snoring!

I am sure everyone would agree that the never-ending rain on the forecast is not keeping our dopamine levels flowing. The gloomy, gray skies that never seem to clear up don’t really help our moods either. Even worse, with finals around the corner and our professors squeezing in every possible lecture, we could not be more ready for summer’s sun.

I often find that when the weather is depressing, I don’t have it in me to go all out with the extra effort for a “feel-good outfit.” I would sooner throw on a pair of sweats. Dull skies means comfy outfits, and there is no question about it.

Since I only have so much influence on the decisions you make when getting dressed for the day, let me propose one suggestion to you for this weather: add a simple pop of color!

An umbrella is the perfect accessory that gets this job done. You can get a vibrant colored one, a patterned one or even one that reps your school! No matter which option you choose, I promise it will still work. Find a small umbrella that you can just throw in your bag to take with you on the go. Then when it starts raining, whip it out. That depressed mood you thought you were once going to have will no longer even be an option.

This Fashionista is literally the epitome of what I am talking about. Although she isn’t in sweats, she still looks pretty comfy. Her Brandy Melville sweatshirt is known for its soft, comfortable texture. Also, the gray color complements the rainy skies perfectly. Her jeans and studded boots are great for class, staying causal yet trendy. Then her neon green umbrella is the ideal addition to her outfit. No wonder why she has such a contagious smile! I knew my day had taken a turn for the better the second I saw her. This girl won’t let those cats and dogs falling from the sky rain down on her parade.

How To: Finding that special umbrella is easy! You can look anywhere online to find it. You might be surprised how many different styles are out there. Don’t forget your rain jacket either!
