ALL IN THE DETAILS: Max it Out

I think most of us have owned a short denim skirt at some point in their life. Mine was often paired with cropped leggings (complete with some lace trim on the bottom) for those days when I just had to wear that skirt but needed some more coverage on my legs. While there’s a time and place for short hemlines, adding some length to your dress or skirt can do wonders for your outfit.

It’s safe to say I’ve had a change of heart and if there’s one spring trend I’m pumped about, it’s maxi dresses. Not only are they gorgeous, but they’re one of the most versatile pieces you can buy—perfect for lounging, lunch, weddings and (my personal favorite) airport wear for that summer vacation you’ve been dying to take. Maxi dresses come in all shapes in sizes to fit the occasion.

This week’s Fashionista kept it casual and fun with her bright, chevron-patterned dress. Its light and breezy material is one of this maxi dress’s best qualities, making it a comfy choice for a spring day. Choose a patterned maxi to keep your outfit fun and vibrant.

This Fashionista dressed hers down with a cropped, denim jacket. She also added a dainty necklace, ring and bracelet to complete the look. I love that her necklace isn’t anything crazy or colorful. This way we can appreciate the fun and vibrant chevron pattern of her dress. In her case, less is more.

Ranging anywhere from casual to formal, the maxi dress should be your new best friend this spring.

How To: Pair your favorite maxi with a denim jacket or cardigan for a look perfect for a sunny day. Top it off with some delicate jewelry and your favorite tote and you’re ready to hit the town!
