ALL IN THE DETAILS: Making A Statement

The fluctuating temperatures on Bradley’s campus in the past few weeks have been hard, even on the most seasoned of Fashionistas/os. Each week has a variety of temperatures ranging anywhere from freezing to hot. This makes it difficult to figure out which outfit will keep you comfortable all day long while still being stylish. When you might be adding or removing layers throughout the day, it’s a good idea to incorporate a statement piece of jewelry to make sure your look is always complete.

What really stole my attention the most with this Fashionista’s outfit was her edgy statement necklace. The colors of her necklace bring the entire look together, by pulling out the black from her jacket and boots, then adding a pop of gold. The necklace dresses up her outfit, yet isn’t too much for a day filled with classes.

The other garments would look ordinary without the statement necklace, but altogether, they look complete. I really love the marled look of her jacket. I think it’s great for springtime, because it can easily be paired with anything and isn’t too heavy. When the temperatures rise, she can remove the jacket and add a lighter cardigan, as well as replacing her boots with a pair of flats or sandals.

How To: Statement pieces of jewelry are great for the unique style they bring to your outfit. However, be careful that they aren’t too dramatic and overbearing. During a full day of school, it can get annoying to deal with a piece of jewelry that is too heavy or makes a lot of noise, so choose something that is more manageable.
