ALL IN THE DETAILS: I’m Feeling Gray

It’s slowly starting to get colder. We’re now in that weird time where it’s freezing in the morning, warmer in the afternoon and then freezing once again at night. However nothing says, “I’m totally cool with it” like all over gray.

This Fashionista is wearing a cool almost blue-gray top that works as a short long-sleeved dress in her outfit. One of the coolest things about this top are the strategic cutouts on the shoulder and right beneath her collar bone. The cutouts show a tiny bit of skin that is intriguing but modest at the same time. This summer we saw the off-the-shoulder trend all over the place. As it starts to get colder, a shoulder cutout is the perfect way to mimic the summer look for fall. The design detailing around the wrists combined with the cutout shoulder makes this Fashionista’s arms appear even longer than they already are.

This Fashionista wore a sleeveless gray large knit cardigan to add some weight to her outfit. Since the top is made of a light and airy material, the cardigan helps draw the eyes down to her gorgeous knee-high boots. The cardigan has a belt that this Fashionista chose to tie in the back, so that she doesn’t have any horizontal lines interrupting the clean vertical lines she has introduced in her outfit drawing the eyes down.

I’m a firm believer in the idea of every woman (or man) owning a pair of knee-high boots. They instantly make you look taller as long as you pair the right outfit with them. This Fashionista is already pretty tall, but the boots make her legs look like they are a mile long.

If you’re petite like I am, wear a dress that has a hem that hits a little bit shy of mid-thigh like this Fashionista’s. Instead of wearing leggings or a pair of tights, show a little bit of skin. That small amount of skin between the tops of your knee-high boots and the hem of the dress gives the appearance of a longer leg. Since you’ll be wearing such high boots, you’ll actually still be able to keep yourself warm in the chilly weather.
