ALL IN THE DETAILS: Hats Off To You

While other campuses are enjoying the new fall season, we here in Houston are still dealing with the sunshine and heat on a daily basis. Even after more than 15 years of living in Texas, it still gets tough to beat the intense weather sometimes. One way I personally love to combat the sun’s rays is by wearing a hat, just like this Fashionista.

With a pair of comfortable leggings, cute Converse and a simple T-shirt, this Fashionista is ready to conquer the Texas heat; since she has her hat by her side (well, on her head), this Fashionista won’t let the sun ruin her day. To make her outfit have some spunk, she also decided to tie her hair into a ponytail–not only does it help show off her face, it truly ties in the entire outfit in together by making one cohesive, chic statement.

If you’re looking to wear a hat with an outfit, you must first consider if it is appropriate–does it mesh well the other pieces you are wearing? How casual is the event you are wearing it to? This Fashionista knew she could be casual on exam day and that her pieces all came together to form a casual style for her look.

For anyone looking to spice things up a bit, try rocking your hat backwards. This works great if you are wanting to look less sporty and more fashion forward. For me, a hat isn’t only a way to cover up a bad hair day or hide from the sun. Hats are an underrated accessory that can really make or break an outfit.
