ALL IN THE DETAILS: Hats Off To Fall

I think we can all agree that the transition from summer to fall is one of the best times of the year. The temperatures start dropping, the leaves change into fiery reds and luminous yellows, there’s a smell of apple and cinnamon everywhere you go and, of course, there’s a new wardrobe. Your floral tops get exchanged for taupe sweaters, your shoes go from a strappy sandal to a thigh-high boot and you clean out your bikini drawer to make room for chunky scarves. No matter how big of a beach bum I am at heart, I still have a deep love for fall and so do our fellow college Fashionistas.

I was walking to class on a normal day when all of a sudden I couldn’t stop staring at this Fashionista’s style. As someone who loves any and every kind of hat, this brown floppy hat immediately caught my attention. Then I fell in love with her tan jumpsuit, and then her perfect amount of jewelry to top off her look. She was killing the fall look from head to toe.

Jumpsuits are fun for any occasion because they are simple to create an entire look around by being only one piece and they are extremely comfortable. This tan jumpsuit could easily be dressed up to look professional for your campus career fair or could be your casual Tuesday library study session go-to. This Fashionista styles it perfectly for her day on campus with this dark brown hat and side braid. The hat makes her look go from a neutral one-piece to a total head-turning ensemble. By adding the hat, she makes her look a lot more extravagant and only had to do minimal accessorizing. Layering this look with a couple silver and gold chokers sealed the deal. They match the zippers on her jumpsuit and are beautifully subtle.

Fall is a great time to play with your style and have fun on campus coming up with new looks. Use your accessories and layer, layer, layer. As Leandra Medine said, “You’ll never regret the fashion mistakes you made, only the ones you didn’t.”

How To: Get this Fashionista’s look by wearing something totally neutral and adding a fun statement piece like a hat. Add as many fun accessories as you can!
