ALL IN THE DETAILS: Denim Daze

Roses are red, violets blue, I love denim, don’t you?! Let’s face it, denim is a trend that has survived decades of wear and tear. I’m super excited about today’s article because it highlights a Fashionista’s personal twist on a rocking trend. Although I myself have never gathered enough confidence to attempt to wear a denim on denim look, I spotted this Fashionista that executed the trend perfectly.

The day I spotted her in the Pit here at UNC it was the day of love, aka Valentine’s Day (hence the rose in her hand). Just like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, she sported her jean jacket inside out, which I would never have thought of. Actually lets get real, I never would have thought of buying a two-toned jacket in the first place. Her jacket is a vintage Levi’s from the ’80s. Sadly I am just not that bold, but with a little luck and persistence, I may get there some day. She gladly reps Puerto Rico with a thrifted tie-dye T-shirt. And then of course we have the jeans; hers are a nice, medium wash pair that I personally believe everyone should have in their wardrobe.

Her gold accessories include a rose quartz stone pendant which just happens to be known as the romance stone. This choice was very fitting considering the holiday. She also paired her stone necklace with a metal link choker form Express. Her booties are super stylish, and yet comfortable enough to walk around our huge campus in without tripping over the multitude of bricks that are clearly out to get us all.

So to all of you Fashionistas and Fashionistos out there with enough spunk to rock the denim on denim look, thanks for making the trend immortal.
