ALL IN THE DETAILS: Denim, and Plaid, and Lace… Oh My

Often, it can be difficult as college students to get out of bed and throw on something trendy for a day of classes. Juggling schoolwork, late nights, perhaps a job, family, and relationships can get tricky at times. The last thing you sometimes want to do is put effort in looking chic for classes. The usual go-to for girls is the comfortable legging and sweatshirt look. This Fashionista just stepped it up a notch by adding just a few rad pieces to transform her look completely, all while still being comfortable throughout the gloomy winter months. After all, dressing for success is key.

She starts off with the basics in a go-to look with the infamous black leggings. She pairs them with an oversize gray sweater, which makes for an outfit on it’s own. But, what makes this Fashionista pop on college campuses is her incorporation of two huge trends going on this winter: denim and the blanket scarf. This light wash denim jacket adds the perfect touch, and it’s so easy to work with. You can plop it on top of pretty much anything and it will achieve a look you never thought you had.

The blanket scarf is the center of attention in this Fashionista’s look. The colors add just the right amount of pop in the very basic colors of the outfit. It pulls out excitement and warmness and not to mention will keep you that much more cozy in class! Her boots captivate the winter season and tie into the color schema scene in the scarf.

As I look at this Fashionista, one essence of her outfit stands out—lace. Very subtly, she decided to pull out the lace where denim and plaid are present. The cream accent brightens up this look and adds girly to the grungy, casual look. She achieved this by simply putting on a lace tank under her sweater and making it visible. Finally, she tops it off with everyday basic jewelry, incorporating a baby blue watch. The color is perfect as she is just in time for spring! This Fashionista will sure be rocking her classes on campus with this look!
