ALL IN THE DETAILS: Beanie Baby

You know the saying “April showers bring May flowers?” Well, these showers have begun a little early this year. After a week of beautiful weather, these past couple of days have been rainy and cold. Mother Nature, you’re the reason we all have trust issues. I can go to the beach one day and the next day I have to bring out my long sleeves again. The best advice I can have right now is not to pack up all of your winter clothes. For the rest of the month, I’m predicting that we will be wearing shorts on a Monday and a fur jacket that Tuesday. On the bright side, this gives us a chance to sneak in those last wears of those winter items that we just can’t part with yet.

This Fashionista is wearing a killer beanie. I mean killer as in extremely rad, but who knows—maybe those spikes could do some damage if you needed to protect yourself. Her sky blue beanie with silver spikes is perfect for a chillier March day. The beanie not only keeps her warm, but also adds an edgy cool-girl vibe to her ensemble. Beanies have become a staple in my wardrobe. I’ll have to admit; I get a tiny bit upset when it becomes too warm to wear them. From saving me the embarrassment of a bad hair day to simply just looking effortlessly chic, I will always be a beanie baby. (I am not talking about an early 2000s plush toy. Taylor Swift fans are the Swifties, Lady Gaga has her “Little Monsters” and beanies have their “beanie babies”).

When wearing a statement headpiece, it’s important to keep the rest of your ensemble simple. This Fashionista does a great job of this. She completes her ensemble with a graphic T-shirt, a black cardigan, dark wash jeans, a pair of black Dr. Martens boots and bright red lipstick. A little pop of color on your lips can go a long way.

How To: We’re all wishing for warmer weather, but until then, rock your most stylish beanies. They’ll be functional and also fashionable. Look for fun patterns, colors or even spikes. A unique beanie will be sure to make your outfit stand out.
