ALL IN THE DETAILS: All About that Lace

One of my favorite parts of spring is when people can ditch bulky clothing and switch to lightweight fabrics. It’s also a time when lace is worn more frequently, which is a sure sign that spring weather is here to stay.

Long sleeve shirts are a great go-to item for spring because it’s not warm enough to wear sleeveless tops but not cold enough to wear thick sweaters. Essentially, a long sleeve top is a happy medium for this season. I love this Fashionista’s crop top with lace detailing. The design on the shirt is a great balance of casual and chic. The lace is the focal point of her look, which stands out against the neutral tones in her outfit.

Lace is one of my favorite details to see because it adds a feminine touch to an article of clothing. When wearing lace, it’s important to keep the rest of your look simple because you want this feature to stand out against the rest of your outfit. Pay attention to what colors you’re wearing in your outfit. Sticking to neutrals in your look is always a good idea if you have a unique detail like lace, crochet, etc. Just pair similar neutrals that will complement each other like black denim and ivory and black top.

Another interesting feature of this Fashionista’s look is her shoes. Her flats introduce more eccentric detail with the cutouts, which are unique because they add a classy element to complete her outfit. They’re versatile and comfortable for a day filled with classes, work and meetings.

How to: Stick to neutral colors in your outfit like black denim and a neutral-colored top. For a little color, add light pink flats to complete your look.
