ALL IN THE DETAILS: Distressed and Lace

Distressing and lace are two textures that can be tricky to combine into one outfit. Both are two of my all-time favorite textures but if not combined properly can turn into an outfit not everyone is comfortable pulling off. However, when added as small details within garments can add a different look making it easier to work with.

I absolutely love lace! Lace is such a versatile material that can be used in so many ways and I just love the sweet and girly feel it adds to pieces when used on the back of shirts or even side panels of a dress. Lately, lingerie inspired tops with lace accents have come into the daytime clothing scene, giving the top a reinvented look. While I love those tops for a nice night out with friends, I also think they work so nicely on top of a T-shirt or even a strapless dress during the day.

As you can see from this Fashionista’s look today, this beautiful lace detailed lingerie top is styled with a basic white T-shirt for a chic daytime look and black distressed jeans, which add a nice laid-back and worn-in element to the look. Then paired with classic Adidas Originals for a modern trendy look. I love this look because the details really make this look so versatile not only does the lace add a sweet girly look but the distressing adds an edgy worn-in appeal. Making this outfit is perfect for transitioning from a day to night look.
