STYLE GURU STYLE: Easy, Breezy, French

It’s finally starting to get knits and boots cold here in Mexico City. I love layering for winter, but I think the key is not to go too crazy with the amount of clothes you are wearing. A clean look with structured pieces and eye-catching details helps the outfit look more put together. For this reason, one of my favorite collections of the season was Iro’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. The combination of belted dresses and oversized jackets with high-waisted skinny jeans and black ankle boots is perfect.

I love the cool, French girl vibe the collection has; the bohemian-rocker looks are fresh and stylish. Most importantly, these looks are very easy to translate into a real life, everyday look. The color palette consists mostly of black, gray, white and beige with some cherry-red and burgundy looks. The hair is very easy and French, too: short with loose soft waves, and the makeup is very natural.

As much as I loved the dresses and skirts presented in the collection, I’m more of a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl. My favorite looks were the ones with the white skinny jeans. To achieve the look, I paired a Zara knit with cream-colored trousers, since I’m not a huge fan of white jeans, and GUESS black boots. Although the collection didn’t show accessories apart from the belts, I added a black box bag and my everyday jewelry.

Get My Look: 1. A white jumper like this one or even this beige one. 2. A pair of white, high-waisted, skinny trousers. 3. Black ankle boots.
