WHAT TO WEAR: Class

In fall, the leaves are getting crisp, classes have started and it is finally sweater weather. Well, apparently not in Northern Maryland. I found this Fashionista on a 90 degree September day, and after a full day of classes, she still looked casually put together.

What I really like about this Fashionista’s outfit is not only is it a nod to a girl power icon Kim Possible and girl on fire, Katniss Everdeen, but it also brings colors traditionally associated with fall into a more summery outfit.

This Fashionista kept it cool in a swingy black tank top, olive green shorts and tan flip flops. It’s a look that seems effortlessly put together. The look is really complemented by her accessories. The bracelet that reads faith adds an authentic, inspiring vibe to the outfit. This Fashionista’s necklace caught my eye with its intricate tree design. The necklace actually opens up to reveal the quote, “Love should be a tree whose roots are deep in the earth but branches extend into heaven.” This Fashionista loves looking for unique accessories, and she found the necklace she is wearing at a craft fair.

For class, a backpack is practical, scratch that, absolutely necessary, especially if your classes are stacked back to back. This Fashionista struck the blend between cool and functional with her awesome Fossil backpack. She knows how to score a bargain, snagging her awesome backpack off the clearance rack at an outlet last year. This backpack is a good size, classic style and in a neutral, subtle pattern. The backpack is classic and durable, and it will last her for years and adventures to come.

One Simple Change: Once classes are out for the day, take a break from the school grind. You deserve it. Ditch the backpack and the tan flip flops, and trade them in for a cute cross-body bag and strappy sandals for a dinner out with friends.
