November 28th, 2016 at 2:00am

Fur has always been a touchy subject, but the recent ’70s revival and reintroduced the styles more prominently on the runway. Being a conscientious shopper is a virtue, whether it is mindfulness on the environment, animals or even your wallet. Faux fur has always been a great alternative to wear the trend for many years now, and different collections for fall/winter have proved faux fur continues to be what’s in this year.

The quality of products today don’t obviously feel like polyester or nylon, especially in fast-fashion retailer’s effort to keep up with the trend and compete. The best way to shop for faux fur is to find a neutral or classic piece that won’t wear out—you especially want to avoid a piece that will date quickly in your wardrobe. Try a long, all-black overcoat or the classic leopard print for timeless looks. These pieces can likely live in your closet even after the trend disappears from our horizons…for now.
