STYLE GURU STYLE: White Out

For a moment there I really thought Florida would experience some sort of winter related weather change, but no, it still remains a steady 80 degrees, placing a hold on cute sweaters. As I can’t wear anything too warm, the inspiration for this look came from Balenciaga’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. Balenciaga’s show was made up of all white, loose articles of clothing and also featured an array of dresses and two-piece outfits.

I wanted to capture the essence of the collection with my own personal touch. The result was a fun and flowing outfit, perfect for a warm winter’s day. Although my love of neutral colors runs deep, I don’t mind a pop of pink every now and then. In my best effort to recreate some of the Balenciaga looks, I wore a loose white T-shirt dress with my favorite white baseball cap. The cap has a patch of a cap on it, automatically making it a cute addition to any outfit. The pink in the cap also ties in with my bold, baby pink Nike’s.

For accessories, I sported my black studded backpack, which added a hint of edginess to an otherwise girly outfit. The backpack contrasts nicely with my predominately white look, and the gold studs on the bag bring out my gold name-plate necklace and bangles.

All in all, this look exudes an effortless spring vibe and is easy to recreate. Warning: wait until it’s actually spring to get the look if you live anywhere besides Florida.
