STYLE GURU STYLE: Swaying in Suede

I’ve liked suede skirts for a while, but I couldn’t seem to find the right style of skirt to fall in love with. While casually browsing online, I stumbled upon a snap-up skirt that came in burgundy. I love burgundy, so this really caught my eye, considering most suede skirts come in a camel or tan. Did I mention that it was in my price range too? Clearly, I snatched this skirt up! I love styling it for the colder weather with tights and boots for a cozy and stylish look.

For those of you who saw button-up skirts begin to pop up everywhere this season and thought you’d seen them before, here’s where they began: the ’70s. I got my inspiration from the Louis Vuitton resort 2015 collection. The flattering A-line shape of this skirt means that it’s versatile for anyone to wear. I paired this burgundy beauty with an oatmeal V-neck shirt and black scarf as to make the burgundy pop. This skirt is great for keeping it simple or dressing it up with a pair of heels.

Tights, high socks and boots kept my legs warm, even on a cold and blustery day. I love having a twist on a classic item just like my burgundy skirt. I absolutely love how my brown boots appear classic, but lace up in the back for a bit of a surprise. They keep my legs warm, too, especially when I pair them with tights and knee socks. You can have your socks be subtle, or they can be fun with a pop of color. It’s up to you!

Get My Look: 1. Burgundy suede skirt. 2. Long sleeve shirt. 3. Lace- up boots.
