STYLE GURU STYLE: Stressed And Distressed

With all the pressure from finals quickly approaching, it’s time to stop stressing and start styling! I’ve always been obsessed with the typical “fall colors,” such as pumpkin and cranberry. But this fall, I’ve been very inspired by the colors used in Versace’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. Within the first few looks from this collection you see a lot of ensembles that utilize this chic army green, and that’s where my inspiration for this look sprouted from.

I’ve always loved creating outfits that are girly yet still grungy at the same time, and that’s where the distressed denim comes in. The key to nailing this look is finding a unique denim jacket that brings out your inner grunge. I found this super stylish and unique jacket in a small boutique in Las Vegas this summer. When shopping around, you don’t typically see jackets like this with chains dangling across the back and on the sleeves. To create a look like this, try a DIY project to create your own personalized denim jacket.

The chunky shoes used in Versace’s collection inspired me to search for my very own pair. After searching for a while, I was able to snatch this perfect pair of heels from Forever 21. The thick heel on these shoes is not too fancy so it looks casual while still looking super stylish. To keep the girly aspect within this outfit, I found this cute monogrammed necklace. Adding a simple necklace like this one brings the silver back from the jacket and incorporates it somewhere else. It’s super easy to take looks from runway shows and add it to your own style. So stop stressing about finals and try to create your own look based upon a true designer. You never know what styles you may come across!
