STYLE GURU STYLE: Say Yay For Gray!

The Chanel spring 2015 ready-to-wear show gives insight and passion towards feminists around the world. The classic tailored look of gray on gray provides a polished but trendy look to everyday life. Clean cut and polished never goes out of style. When making the transition from runway to real-life, clothing needs to provide purpose and functionality. To transition my look from runway style I chose to go with a more fitted two-piece that hugs the curves and provides a peak-a-boo slit to emphasize the modern touch. If any celebrity would wear the look I have on it would be Shay Mitchell. Her cool and collected style trends can be seen as casual but can easily be dressed up by adding higher shoes (the higher the better, am I right ladies?) and chunky but simple accessories.

Gray is a staple color that makes up the majority of my wardrobe, it can be worn together and screams trendy! The easiest way to dress down gray is to wear it with black jeans or light, ripped boyfriend jeans. These are both effortlessly chic and casual. Keeping color to a minimum is a key component of this look and is the element of making a major statement.

For my outfit, I took a trendy two-piece and added a leather jacket for warmth and style (well, mostly style). The black hat was an addition that finished off the look with a bold statement that continued with the neutral trend. An alternative option is to throw on a comfy cozy blanket scarf (and yes it’s so BIG it can dual as a picnic blanket). Finally, throw on some open toe heel booties and you’ve got yourself an insta-worthy outfit. The best part of this outfit is that the accessories take away from my face (i.e. makeup not required) and P.S: the trendy hat also works as a hair hideaway for those lazy days. The most desired trend right now is the mix of high fashion and cool-causal, which this outfit provides the basics of both these looks.
