STYLE GURU STYLE: Puglisi Pastels And Cheetah Prints

Pastel colors are perfect for spring. Fausto Puglisi’s resort 2015 collection mirrors every springtime trend for this season. From pastel color-blocked dresses to tie-dyed skirts, Puglisi’s collection is the perfect representation of everything spring. One of my favorite elements of this collection is the cheetah printed items he incorporated within some ensembles. The collection was themed with primarily pastel purple and green skirts, dresses and shoes. There were also cheetah printed shoes, skirts and jackets. I loved how some of the models in this runway show wore pointed-toe pumps that matched their outfits. I also love how Fausto Puglisi incorporated gladiator sandals into some looks–a popular trend from last year.

Out of all of the amazing looks in this collection, one outfit in particular completely grabbed my attention. The model was wearing an acid-washed denim jacket with a blue tie-dye skater skirt and black gladiator sandals. I transformed Puglisi’s runway look into an everyday outfit by pairing an acid-washed denim jacket (that I made myself!) with a pair of blue tie-dye leggings. The detailing on the denim jacket I made by first bleaching the jacket and then adding gold studs above the pockets. For added flair, I made a skull cutout into the back of the jacket. Since the prints on my leggings and jacket were so loud, I decided to pair the two with a simple white crop top. Pulling from the collection, I completed my outfit with a pair of chunky cheetah print shoes. I kept my jewelry minimal, opting to wear pastel pink studs, a cheetah print bracelet (also DIY—it was made from an old belt!) and a gold cuff bracelet.

Fausto Puglisi’s resort 2015 collection encouraged me to keep being bold. I hope it serves as an inspiration to other Fashionistas/os to step outside of the norm and to not be afraid of dressing outside of the box.

Get My Look: 1. An acid-washed denim jacket. 2. Tie-dyed leggings. 3. Cheetah print chunky heeled shoes.
