STYLE GURU STYLE: Pop of Parisian

Paris Fashion Week is always my favorite. There’s nothing I love more than Parisian fashion, eclectic street style and the magnificent French designers, namely—Céline. The Céline fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection stuck out to me last spring as I was scrolling through endless Fashion Week runway reviews. Creative Director, Pheobe Philo, flawlessly created the most amazing knits, unusual animal prints, jackets and, of course, turtlenecks. Céline pulled together classic fall pieces, and added a twist with otters and foxes as animal prints, fun pompoms and bejeweled heels. She held up her classic black and white minimalism by adding pops of red, baby blue, yellow and, of course, deep orange. In between fur lined coats and duvet jackets, there were also classic knit dresses and turtlenecks. These minimal-chic pieces weren’t only just fabulous, but also functional and easy to recreate in any everyday outfit.

With inspiration from Céline, I decided to stray away from my everyday black and white get-up, and go for a burnt-orange turtleneck from Urban Outfitters. It’s cozy and perfect for class, lunch with friends or a lazy Sunday. To make this outfit suitable for class, I paired my turtleneck with my favorite distressed boyfriend jeans, classic Chelsea booties and, of course, my tote filled with all school day necessities. I wanted to channel my inner Céline while staying casual enough to hit the books in the library.

The best part of fashion is how inspirational a piece or collection can be, whether it be a luxurious designer or something you see on the way to class. You can translate a look and make it completely your own a million different ways. With that, it’s not too late to throw in a pop of your favorite fall colors into your everyday wardrobe for a simple change.
