STYLE GURU STYLE: Playful Prints

If you know anything about me, it’s that I’m inevitably obsessed with J.Crew. It’s not because I’m cliché or anything, it’s just that their clothing has never disappointed me. I have yet to find something that I have bought that I haven’t loved. Simplistic, well-made, comfortable, effortless pieces that J.Crew carries are always essential in my daily wardrobe.

With no doubt the J.Crew spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection doesn’t disappoint. With a somewhat eclectic vibe, the team at J.Crew has made an effortless collection with a Latin American inspiration. This collection is filled with oversized men’s wear inspired pieces, wonderful textiles, indigo dyed jackets, bright yellows and simple silhouettes. Oversized, tunic length, button-downs were half tucked into slouchy cropped ankle pants; tons of layers as well as a mix of prints flowed perfectly together. This collection gives a minimalistic feel J.Crew always holds true too.

Taking inspiration from this collection, for my look today, I thought it would be perfect to wear my favorite patterned pants. These pants have a perfect light blue pattern that pairs great with any shirt. They are also perfectly cropped and tapered at the ankles. I decided to bring in the natural oversized feel this collection shares. For my shirt, my gray oversized sweater pairs perfectly. For shoes, my bright yellow flats add an eye-catching pop of color. With my accessories to bring in a little quirkiness I wore kate spade gold bow earrings. My outfit is a mix of basic pairings, but with an added subtle pattern and a bright pop of color this whole look stands out.

Get My Look: 1. Patterned pants. 2. Bow earrings. 3. Yellow ballet flats.
