STYLE GURU STYLE: New Year, New Semester

It’s good to be back to school. This business casual look that I’m wearing accommodates both the comfort and warmth that is needed when you have the case of the Mondays, but want to look good too. I love how easy it is to layer a lot of staple pieces and how they can turn any outfit into something different. This outfit is all made out of staples you all can find in your or any of your friends’ closets!

As a business and a journalism student, I am always on the go. I need to be in something I can walk across campus in, and with a West Coast breeze coming in from the Pacific Ocean, I also need to be kept warm while doing so.

This structured black and gray coat gives this outfit both structure and coziness that makes it easy to wear to class. If it gets too warm, I have a simple white button-up that is comfy and cute–it can make any outfit have a preppy feel to it!

I paired this button-up with a denim skirt to add some casual but classic essence to the structure of my coat. This makes the outfit more wearable, and in the cold weather, layering a pop of color in my tights helps my OOTD have a more finished look. Who doesn’t love a little color?

To finish off my outfit, I’m wearing a pair of my favorite booties from Aldo! The heels of this pair isn’t too high or flat; it’s easy to walk class-to-class in these babies.

Thanks for checking out my article, fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! Have a great start to your spring semester!
