STYLE GURU STYLE: Neutrals And Suede

A designer that has stood out to me recently is Calvin Klein. No, I am not going to talk about his trendy sports bras that are everywhere now, but I am going to focus on his recent pre-fall 2015 runway show. I’ve had an eye for elegant neutral tones recently, and his collection masters just that. His collection features many different textures, ranging from suede to leather, but it also incorporates a lot of ivory and earthy tones.

Although I occasionally love a pop of color, I am ready for these monochromatic fall tones and styles to come in. In this look, I incorporated a tan suede skirt with a white V-neck shirt, which I then paired with my pointed suede flats. I wanted to go against the grain by pairing suede with suede. Since they were both subtle colors, I decided it was okay to do. I though it gave the outfit some intensity.

This outfit is a great example of what a pre-fall wardrobe should look like! I am starting to move the bright summer colors to the back of the closet and incorporate more of my favorite neutrals. This outfit gives off a fall appeal, but it is still cool enough for that late summer heat. Calvin Klein’s runway show entailed a lot of fall patterns and textures with more summery looks like a maxi dress or a knit tank top. He started to layer some items a bit, but I would hold off on the layering for just a little longer. I know layering up is something most of us are excited for at this point in the year.

Get My Look: 1. Suede skirt. 2. White V-neck shirt. 3. Pointed flats.
