STYLE GURU STYLE: Moto Leather Jacket

For Christmas a few years ago, my parents gave me my first piece of Louis Vuitton. I remember obsessing over the beautiful brown box with the prettiest blue ribbon tied around it. I don’t know if my parents realized how infatuated I would be when I opened that box. Years later, there is no going back and I am still just as obsessed. I have added a few more pieces since then and I like to think I have my own tiny collection of Louis Vuitton.

Just when I thought I couldn’t be more in love, I saw the Louis Vuitton spring 2016 ready-to-wear show. Nicolas Ghesquière has outdone himself, yet again. This show was unique from the moment Fernanda Ly walked on the runway with pale pink hair and long lashes.   Ghesquière has stated that this show was inspired by our digital world and anime.  This collection gives off fearless and one-of-a-kind vibes from the moto jackets, metal-embroidered skirts, beaded knits and leather to the cool, cyberpunk models wearing them. When I think about this runway show, I think about how edgy and cool the models looked in their anime inspired makeup and outfits. I wish I could have been in the room catching these vibes as the models walked. What a dream, right? Just because I couldn’t be there doesn’t mean I can’t attempt to radiate these vibes on my own. With inspiration from the show, I went to my closet and pulled out leather and lace. I threw on my oldest but favorite “leather” jacket with one of my favorite Free People body suits, a good pair of Abercrombie high waist jeans and my all time favorite Stuart Weitzman thigh-highs. I like to think this outfit gives off cool girl vibes.

I think I am so obsessed with this show because today, we live in a digital/technology-centered world. The Louis Vuitton spring 2016 show was the perfect representation of this new digital dimension with a little edge. So, is it safe to say the new Louis Vuitton gives you magical cool girl powers? My answer will always be yes.

Get My Look: 1. Free People body suit. 2. Abercrombie jeans. 3. Stuart Weitzman boots 4. Topshop belt.
