When I looked through the Saint Laurent fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I was immediately inspired. Every look in the collection fit my ideal style. From the various styles of leather pants to the gorgeous mini dresses, I felt Saint Laurent really delivered on this collection. The entire show screamed “bad-girl-meets-rocker-chic”. Most of the looks were monochrome, with the exception of a few patterned dresses and colorful jackets.
Whether it was on the jacket, dress or pants, most of the outfits contained pieces made out of one of my favorite materials: leather. Every look brought a flood of inspiration and longing to recreate these breathtaking outfits. My goal was to bring a look of my own together, while keeping it under my tight budget and adding my own personal flare.
I immediately pulled out my signature leather jacket. Taking a cue from the collection, I compiled the rest of the outfit featuring mostly leather garments. I decided on a fitted leather skirt to keep the focus on the edginess that Hedi Slimane skillfully achieved in the Saint Laurent collection. To replicate the boots in several of the looks, I wore one of my favorite pairs of black boots. In order to incorporate my personal style and undying love of turtlenecks into the outfit, I wore a cropped black turtleneck. Round-frame holographic sunglasses finished off the look and gave the outfit a pop of color. Even though an actual piece from the Saint Laurent collection would have been outside my budget—no matter how badly I want every article of clothing in the collection—I was still able to pull together a rocker-chic look that paid homage to the amazing Saint Laurent collection and didn’t break the bank.
