STYLE GURU STYLE: Let's Get Physical

Hello everyone, it is September! By now everyone should be settled into their dorms and apartments and adjusting to their schedules (A.K.A. you figured out you can wake up 20 minutes before class and still look put together). So whether you are new to the whole college experience or a seasoned veteran you have started to catch on to the latest lingo and found your favorite dining hall. In addition to the fun adjustment you have all been going through you have been bombarded with flyers and emails for different events like football games and campus festivals. So, this month on CollegeFashionista we are going to talk about how to show your school spirit! What a perfect way to do so by showing you all my own personal style.

I personally love showing my school spirit by wearing my university’s apparel, but it can get a little boring at times. It is easy to get stuck in the rut of wearing a basic college T-shirt and leggings to your 7:45 class or to an event. But there are ways to incorporate a college T-shirt to fit your personal style! I personally gravitate to more vintage-inspired pieces so this physical education T-shirt was perfect for me. It is not true vintage (it is from the campus book store), but it gives off that feeling of nostalgia. If you want that true vintage look, I am sure you could find vintage college T-shirts at thrift stores near your campus. So, to go with my vintage sporty look I paired my college T-shirt with a jean skirt and New Balance sneakers. The sneakers are well worn and have that vintage style to them to add to the nostalgic look of the physical education shirt and the skirt adds a feminine touch.

This look shows both my school spirit and my personal style in a fun way. I look both sporty and fashionable and I might even be mistaken for an athlete thanks to this physical education T-shirt. Who am I kidding, I do not look like an athlete, but at least I can show my school spirit around campus in a fun way! I encourage you all to find a college T-shirt that represents your style, whether it may be at your local thrift store or your campus bookstore there is one out there for you. Have fun with it and show that school pride—I mean you are going to be there for four years you might as well enjoy it.
